Join cuspai's People Team as a Senior Talent Partner, focusing on technical partnerships and business development roles. You will manage the full recruitment cycle, ensuring a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers. This role is crucial for expanding our team and advancing our mission to discover new materials.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the entire recruitment process for various technical roles, including software engineers, researchers, and business development specialists.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract highly specialized talent from scientific companies, AI labs, and academia.
- Represent cuspai to candidates, explaining our mission and the impact of our AI-driven materials discovery.
- Collaborate with hiring teams to create job descriptions, define requirements, and design effective interview processes.
- Conduct interviewer calibration sessions to ensure consistent evaluation criteria.
- Provide data-driven market insights on compensation, talent availability, and hiring trends in Deep Tech and AI for Materials Science.
- Work with the People Team to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our hiring practices.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience that reflects cuspai's values.
- Maintain accurate data in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to support data-driven hiring decisions.
- Uphold service level agreements for application review, candidate communication, and stakeholder updates.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience recruiting high-level technical partnerships or scientific business development professionals for science or research organizations.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced startup or scale-up environments, building processes from scratch when needed.
- Strong curiosity to understand the nuances of each role and proactively research best practices in Talent Acquisition.
- Proven track record of hiring for complex technical profiles, with the ability to understand different engineering and research disciplines.
- A proactive approach to sourcing, utilizing various networks beyond standard platforms.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, providing guidance to managers and senior leadership.
- Genuine enthusiasm for the intersection of AI and science, with the ability to articulate cuspai's mission to candidates.
Nice to have
- Academic or professional background in Materials Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience recruiting technical founders, PhD-level business developers, or translation-focused researchers.
- Familiarity with the MLOps and deep tech startup ecosystem.

Practical notes
- This role requires some overlap with European teams' working hours.
- Expect an initial few weeks of onboarding in our Cambridge/London office.
- Regular travel to Europe and other global locations may be required.
