You own the full P&L responsibility for your store, driving both culinary and retail business performance against established goals. You will lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver #bestincenter service that creates memorable experiences for every guest. In this role, you represent the Sur La Table brand and culture by fostering a guest-obsessed environment that inspires repeat visits and loyalty. You will stay current on all products and training to maintain deep expertise and independently seek resources that elevate your team's knowledge. Your daily decisions on merchandising, engagement, and operations will directly impact customer conversion, retention, and sales volume. You are accountable for ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and wage and hour laws while modeling integrity in all records and processes. What you'll do
- Analyze daily performance metrics to identify opportunities and refine strategies for optimizing store results.

- Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer concerns to preserve satisfaction and build long-term loyalty.
- Uphold food safety certifications and accurately maintain associates' records, including time, attendance, and certifications.
- Adhere to applicable wage and hour laws while accurately recording time worked according to SLT Policy.
- Utilize computer systems, POS platforms, and merchandise scanners to accomplish operational tasks efficiently.
- Plan and execute class offerings that boost second-class sign-ups and deepen guest engagement through exceptional in-store experiences.
- Work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
- Possess 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably within a specialty or culinary retail environment.
- Hold a current Food Manager Certification or demonstrate the ability to acquire certification as required.
- Proven history of achieving sales targets and motivating high-performing sales teams while meeting operational goals.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the capacity to inspire, develop, and retain a cohesive, high-performing team.
- Exhibit excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in all customer and associate interactions.

Practical notes
Workweeks are expected to be between 46 and 48 hours with the ability to maintain a flexible schedule. You must be able to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a time and move about the store to coach associates, sell to customers, and retrieve merchandise. You will frequently grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to replenish stock from storage areas. The role requires lifting or moving merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs and ascending or descending ladders to handle inventory. You must operate computers, POS systems, keyboards, scanners, and a mouse to complete daily tasks. Regular and predictable attendance is essential, and the position may require shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel is not required for this position, and no visa sponsorship information is provided.
