Director of Economics & Pricing
Job description
About the role
The is the single-threaded owner of an internal economics and pricing decision system designed to improve cash recovery, margin, and capital efficiency across closed-out, at-risk, and healthy inventory. This role operates at the intersection of pricing, inventory, finance, data science, and engineering, transforming high uncertainty into structured decisions that execute daily and move real dollars in the portfolio. The hire owns the end-to-end lifecycle of the decision system, from problem framing and requirements definition through model development, integration, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, real-world retail environment. You will act as a product owner and economics leader, not a pure analyst or engineer, ensuring that the system delivers measurable impact on cash recovery, margin, and capital efficiency across the CSC Generation portfolio. This position is responsible for defining the vision, roadmap, and governance of pricing and economics capabilities while partnering closely with brand teams, category experts, and technology partners to integrate the system into operational workflows. The role demands comfort with ambiguity, strong judgment, and the ability to synthesize inputs from finance, data science, and engineering into clear, actionable decisions that scale. You will own metrics, diagnose performance, and iterate on the system to drive incremental gains in cash recovery, margin, and inventory productivity across a diverse set of iconic brands. This is a leadership role that requires influencing cross-functional stakeholders, setting standards, and building the foundational economics infrastructure that supports strategic and tactical pricing decisions company-wide.

What you'll do
Lead the discovery and definition of an internal economics and pricing decision system that improves cash recovery, margin, and capital efficiency across closed-out, at-risk, and healthy inventory.
Architect the end-to-end decision workflows, data requirements, and integration points needed to operationalize pricing and economics logic across CSC Generation's technology stack.
Partner with data science and engineering teams to translate economics requirements into model specifications, feature definitions, and evaluation metrics that drive real business outcomes.
Own the product roadmap for pricing and economics capabilities, prioritizing initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with portfolio cash recovery, margin, and capital efficiency goals.

Establish governance processes, including change management, testing protocols, and monitoring frameworks, to ensure decisions are auditable, explainable, and continuously improved.

Work closely with M&A and integration teams to adapt and deploy the economics and pricing decision system within newly acquired brands and platforms.
