Crusoe is seeking an Engineering Manager to guide the Data Team, which is essential for the company's AI and cloud intelligence systems. This role involves leading a group of data engineers to build a data infrastructure that is scalable and reliable, providing crucial insights for energy and AI operations. Your success will be measured by your team's development, the stability of the data platform, and your ability to deliver on the strategic roadmap.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of data engineers, conducting regular one-on-one meetings and supporting career growth.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Cloud Leadership to define the long-term vision and quarterly objectives for the data platform.
- Oversee technical designs, ensuring the team develops scalable and maintainable architectures for data lakes, warehouses, and ETL frameworks.
- Implement engineering best practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment, data quality monitoring, and incident response.
- Manage the hiring process to expand the team with diverse engineering talent.
- Serve as the main contact for data stakeholders across the company, ensuring the team focuses on top-priority initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience managing engineering teams.
- A minimum of 7 years of total experience in data engineering or software engineering.
- Strong understanding of modern data tools and cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-quarter technical projects on schedule and with high quality.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical challenges and their business impact to various stakeholders.
- A commitment to mentorship and helping engineers advance their careers.
- Experience fostering a data-driven culture where decisions are based on metrics and testing.
Nice to have
- Experience with bare metal, hyperscaler clouds, or GPU infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AI/ML data requirements or high-performance computing environments.
