About the role
CrowdPlat is hiring a Systems Analyst to manage the transition of Oracle workloads into an AWS environment for a Texas state agency. You will oversee the technical design and execution of data migration strategies while ensuring connectivity between legacy systems and the cloud.

What you'll do
- Execute Oracle to AWS migrations using AWS DMS, including full-load and CDC architectures.
- Build and maintain AWS networking components like VPCs, subnets, routing, and Direct Connect.
- Create migration runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback strategies to reduce system downtime.
- Automate migration workflows using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Manage infrastructure via Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Monitor migration performance and security logs using CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Document technical specifications, user requirements, and operational workflows.
- Consult with business units to assess project feasibility and define system objectives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT solution delivery.
- 8+ years of experience with AWS DMS for Oracle-to-AWS migrations.
- 8+ years of experience with real-time streaming, CDC, and batch data ingestion.
- 8+ years of experience designing AWS infrastructure and networking (VPC, security groups, subnets).
- 8+ years of experience with core AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda) and IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- 8+ years of experience in ETL/ELT methodologies and cloud data integration.
- 8+ years of experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
- 8+ years of experience managing cloud network security, including VPNs and Direct Connect.
- 8+ years of experience with AWS monitoring tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
- 8+ years of experience developing migration cutover plans and rollback strategies.
- 8+ years of experience in technical documentation and cross-functional communication.
- 8+ years of experience with hybrid cloud connectivity and legacy system modernization.
Nice to have
- 4+ years holding AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
- 1+ year of experience in public sector or state government environments.

- AWS DMS, Oracle, AWS Networking (VPC, Direct Connect, VPN), Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Bash, PowerShell, AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, ETL/ELT, CDC.
Practical notes
- This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in Austin on Mondays and Thursdays.
- Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work required.
- Candidates must reside in Texas and be local to Austin.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful criminal background check, signing an Acceptable Use Agreement, and a Contractor Integrity Agreement.
- All travel, parking, and living expenses are the responsibility of the contractor.
