Staff Software Engineer, Dev Ops

About the role

Conga is seeking a senior technical leader to guide the development and enhancement of our cloud infrastructure and automation. This role involves collaborating with various teams to implement scalable DevOps practices and improve our SaaS platform's reliability and delivery speed.

What you'll do

• Provide technical direction for DevOps projects across engineering departments.
• Establish standards and best practices for infrastructure, automated deployments, and operational efficiency.
• Lead initiatives to boost platform scalability, resilience, and performance.
• Mentor engineers on technical matters and best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain highly available cloud environments on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Drive infrastructure modernization using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Develop scalable cloud-native solutions to meet business demands.
• Optimize platform performance, reliability, security, and cost.
• Design and support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Define deployment strategies and operational standards for Kubernetes workloads.
• Build automated solutions for provisioning, configuration, compliance, and support.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response systems.
• Implement cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Design solutions for encryption, identity management, access control, and network security.
• Develop disaster recovery and fault-tolerant architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in designing, building, and supporting large-scale cloud infrastructure and software delivery platforms.
• Proven success leading complex DevOps, cloud modernization, or platform engineering initiatives in SaaS companies.
• Experience architecting highly available, fault-tolerant systems for critical workloads.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy and promote engineering best practices across multiple teams.
• Deep understanding of microservices architectures and cloud-native application design.
• Advanced expertise with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and network security.
• Experience implementing cloud security frameworks, identity management, and compliance controls.
• Working knowledge of development technologies such as .NET Core/.NET Framework, Java, and JavaScript.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.

Nice to have

• AWS, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, or other cloud platform certifications.
• Experience architecting and operating large-scale Kubernetes environments.
• Experience designing globally distributed, highly resilient cloud platforms.
• Expertise in disaster recovery planning and business continuity.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks like OAuth and encryption.
• Experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments with Jira.
• Background supporting enterprise SaaS products at scale.
