Associate
Job description
Associate at Company Ventures.
About the role
You will own the design and execution of our community programming and the operational backbone that supports it. You will translate high-level ambitions into repeatable, high-quality events and content that attract and engage skeptical builders. You will act as the central nervous system for our residency, coordinating flows of people, information, and opportunity across teams. You will leverage modern AI systems to construct durable infrastructure for outreach, tracking, and communication. You will serve as the primary storyteller for our community, documenting and amplifying the work that happens within our walls. You will act as a gatekeeper and connector, ensuring exceptional talent encounters our world without friction. You will continuously iterate on the residency program itself, treating the curriculum and community experience as products you are responsible for improving.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design and run a recurring calendar of community events and formats that actually earn people's time, including workshops, new company idea brainstorms, founders lunches, innovation days, and expert conversations.
Ensure every event on the calendar has a defensible reason to exist, anchored in a topic worth debating, a person worth hearing from, or a connection worth making that would hold a room of skeptical, busy builders.
Own the room during events, hosting gatherings with the confidence to read a crowd, keep a conversation moving fluidly, and ensure the right people meet each other at the right time.
Work in lockstep with the talent and investment teams to identify exceptional researchers, engineers, and future founders, and to immediately activate them through event invites, residency conversations, or high-stakes introductions.
Build lightweight tools using AI coding agents to create trackers, automate follow-up sequences, and score outreach priorities, replacing manual memory and spreadsheet management with scalable systems.
Turn vague intentions like "we should meet this person" into concrete touchpoints within days, compressing timelines and accelerating relationship building for the community.
Make the community itself a compelling reason for talented people to accept conversation invitations and engage deeply with our ecosystem over time.
Own the full operation of the Founder Residency program, managing admissions coordination, onboarding logistics, and the year-long rhythm of the approximately 30 teams operating inside our physical space.
Serve as the primary point of contact for resident founders, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of what everyone is working on, what they need, and which other resident or partner can provide specific help.
Continuously evaluate the residency program against real-world outcomes, identifying what is working, what is not, and prescribing specific adaptations for year-over-year evolution.
Build and run Company Ventures' content and social media presence as a core responsibility, not a peripheral task, ensuring consistent and high-quality output.
Transform the daily happenings within our space and residency into content that earns attention elsewhere, producing recaps, founder spotlights, event highlights, and long-form essays.
Develop a distinct point of view on the state of programming and community-building, articulating it through a versatile range of outputs including writing, photography, video, editing, and AI-assisted production.
Ensure that the content and events you produce create a flywheel where attendees become participants, and participants become storytellers within their own networks.
Maintain a high standard of taste and execution in every deliverable, reflecting the quality and ambition of the investment team and the companies we support.
Requirements
A natural host who finds energy in bringing people together and excels at reading a room, sustaining momentum, and drawing quieter participants into active dialogue.
Genuine taste in programming, with a documented point of view on what constitutes a worthwhile event versus a forgettable one, and the ability to defend that perspective with evidence.
Proven execution of brand-building social media and content, demonstrated by a portfolio that shows a grown following, a sustained content series, and a developed voice over time.
Comfortable building with AI tools, specifically capable of using systems like Claude Code or Cursor to build lightweight trackers, automate repetitive outreach sequences, and create data-driven prioritization frameworks.
Exceptional written communication skills, able to craft clear, concise, and persuasive messages that respect the time of busy founders and executives.
Strong organizational instincts, including the capacity to manage multiple deadlines, juggle competing priorities, and maintain a reliable operational rhythm for complex programs.
A bias for action and ownership, characterized by the ability to start tasks without direction, see them through to completion, and learn publicly from both successes and failures.
Deep respect for confidentiality and the realities of founder-investor relationships, understanding the sensitive nature of early-stage information and intentions.
Nice to have
Experience running community programming or operating studio programs for builders.
A portfolio of production work including video editing, photography, or audio production that enhances storytelling.
Familiarity with data infrastructure and no-code automation platforms that can support community operations.
