Staff Software Engineer, AI Integrations

About the role

The AI Integrations team manages the data exchange between our platform and over 40 Electronic Medical Records systems. You will build the infrastructure that powers our Revenue Cycle Management and Ambient products by handling critical patient encounter and appointment data.

What you'll do

• Architect and build integration solutions connecting our platform with third-party EHRs and insurance systems.
• Use LLM technology to automate the reverse-engineering of electronic health records.
• Partner with product and clinical teams to define technical requirements and project priorities.
• Lead the technical strategy for our integration platform, including architectural upgrades.
• Manage the full lifecycle of integration workflows from initial design to production monitoring.
• Debug performance issues and improve the stability of live integrations.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare security standards including HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce high coding standards across the team.
• Establish best practices for testing, version control, and continuous integration.
• Coordinate with DevOps and QA to maintain system health through monitoring and alerting.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Go, or C++.
• Proficiency in frontend development using Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Git, GCP or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and both relational and non-relational databases.
• Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end systems and make high-level architectural decisions.
• Strong communication skills for a fast-paced environment.
