About the role
This role manages the daily human resources operations for our teams in India, ensuring all core People Operations functions are executed consistently, compliantly, and with an employee-first approach. It connects People, Finance/Payroll, and business operations, focusing on strong operational discipline, accurate HRMS data, and reliable governance for payroll, attendance, documentation, and employee support. This is a hands-on position requiring meticulous attention to detail and the ability to create scalable processes.

What you'll do
- Oversee all People Operations in India, including the employee lifecycle, HRMS updates, documentation, and policy adherence.
- Implement and maintain the India People Ops operational rhythm, including weekly checklists, monthly calendars, and exception logs, to ensure predictable and auditable operations.
- Coordinate monthly payroll inputs with Finance/Payroll, covering attendance, leave, deductions, additions, exceptions, and validation.
- Manage attendance governance and exception handling, ensuring all approvals and supporting documents comply with policy.
- Maintain an accurate compliance calendar for payroll cutoffs and ensure timely completion with minimal reworks.
- Drive precise HRMS data management for employee master data, reporting structures, work models, policy acknowledgements, and access controls.
- Manage standard letter and documentation workflows, such as employment letters, salary letters, confirmations, and verifications, adhering to clear service level agreements and template standards.
- Operate a structured HR helpdesk process for intake, triage, resolution, and escalation, with documented turnaround times.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and leadership on sensitive cases, ensuring high-quality documentation and a clear case history.
- Manage operational checklists for onboarding and offboarding, including document collection, HRMS actions, and exit workflows, to provide a consistent employee experience.
- Coordinate full and final settlement inputs, ensuring exits are completed with accurate documentation and timely closure.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring People Ops workflows to ensure consistent application across teams.
- Track key People Ops metrics like case volume, SLA adherence, recurring issues, and exception trends, proposing data-driven improvements.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in People Operations or HR Operations, ideally in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong practical experience managing payroll input governance, attendance/leave workflows, monthly cutoffs, and exception handling.
- High comfort level with HRMS hygiene, data accuracy, approvals, reporting lines, policies, and access controls.
- Solid experience managing employee documentation (letters, templates), onboarding/offboarding, and full and final settlement coordination with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to create SOPs, checklists, and trackers that reduce individual dependencies and enhance operational scalability.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of working effectively with Finance/Payroll, IT, and business leaders, knowing when and how to escalate issues and document them.
- Calm, structured, and service-oriented approach, able to handle employee queries professionally while maintaining policy consistency.
- Strong written communication skills and comfort working with sensitive and confidential employee data.
