Lead Software Engineer, Agentic AI Systems

About the role

We are looking for a technical leader to architect and build autonomous agent systems that improve how our members navigate their healthcare benefits. You will shape the technical direction of our AI initiatives while working closely with cross-functional teams to deploy intelligent solutions into production.

What you'll do

• Design and implement AI agents capable of performing complex tasks within our healthcare ecosystem.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle for agentic workflows, from initial prototyping to large-scale deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to identify high-impact areas for AI automation.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices for building reliable, scalable AI-driven applications.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight on system architecture.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in backend software engineering or AI system development.
• Demonstrated ability to design and maintain production-grade software systems.
• Proficiency in building and integrating LLM-based applications or autonomous agent frameworks.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and API design.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working in the healthcare technology or insurance sectors.
• Familiarity with vector databases, prompt engineering, or fine-tuning language models.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and MLOps pipelines.
