About the role

Become a key member of the Coinbase Advisor team, where you will play a pivotal role in the creation of a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)-licensed trading system that seamlessly integrates with the Coinbase application. Your primary focus will be on developing user-friendly interfaces that empower clients to manage their investment portfolios and execute trades through advanced conversational AI technology. This position demands a comprehensive full-stack approach to ensure that the frontend, backend services built in Go, and large language model (LLM) components work together harmoniously as a unified product.

What you'll do

• Oversee the complete frontend development process for mobile and web applications using React Native, focusing on chat interfaces and strategy dashboards that enhance user experience.
• Design and implement streaming interfaces that deliver AI-generated trading advice and facilitate autonomous trade execution, emphasizing low latency and high visual fidelity.
• Shape the behavior of the trading agents through effective prompt engineering, along with the evaluation and analysis of user interactions to improve system performance.
• Adapt and enhance Go backend services and integrate LLMs, including Google Gemini and the LLM Gateway, to meet the evolving needs of the frontend.
• Develop and architect frontend systems capable of rendering real-time market data and providing stateful conversational experiences for users.
• Collaborate closely with design teams, engineering peers, and registered investment advisers to successfully launch new features while adhering to regulatory standards.
• Engage in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of team practices and code quality.
• Participate in the agile development process, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to ensure project alignment and progress.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing consumer-oriented products at scale, demonstrating a strong understanding of user needs and product-market fit.
• Advanced expertise in TypeScript and React, with a proven track record of building robust applications.
• Experience managing frontend architecture, including state management solutions and API integrations, ensuring seamless user interactions.
• Hands-on experience with deploying large language models, particularly in the context of agentic systems, tool invocation, and streaming response mechanisms.
• Proven ability to lead projects from conception through to production with minimal oversight, showcasing strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in backend development using Go, along with a solid understanding of financial, trading, or cryptocurrency products.
• A strong commitment to the responsible use of generative AI, ensuring human oversight to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in outputs.

• Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure, particularly in deploying scalable applications.
• Experience in the financial technology sector, particularly with trading systems or investment platforms.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial services and trading.

Practical notes

• The annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD.
• Total compensation includes equity options, eligibility for bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package that covers medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.
