About the role
Coefficient Giving is seeking dedicated individuals to bolster its finance operations as the organization expands. These roles will involve a blend of essential financial tasks and special initiatives, with approximately half of your time dedicated to each. We are looking to fill multiple Associate positions and one Lead role.

What you'll do
Manage the finance inbox, addressing inquiries, processing invoices, and coordinating with internal teams.
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.
Review staff expense reports for compliance and accuracy.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
Streamline and manage the onboarding process for contractors.
Develop and maintain clear documentation for finance procedures and policies.
Contribute to special projects such as implementing new finance software, supporting international entity setup, enhancing internal controls, assisting with audits and tax filings, and managing payroll and benefits administration.
The Lead will manage more complex financial workstreams and supervise 1-3 Finance Operations Associates.
Requirements
For Associate roles, 3-4 years of finance, accounting, operations, or project management experience is expected.
For Lead roles, 5-7 years of finance or accounting experience is required, with significant responsibility for period-end close, audits, or similar core finance functions.
Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of tasks and communications while balancing immediate needs with longer-term projects.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent written communication abilities, capable of explaining complex financial concepts clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
A customer-service mindset, treating both internal and external parties with support and professionalism.
A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiency gains.
Proficiency in Google Sheets, including advanced functions for financial data analysis.
Interest in learning and growing within a mission-driven finance operations environment.
Lead candidates must also have experience with a risk-based financial approach, Form 990 preparation/review, external audit project management, and payroll/benefits administration. Experience coaching team members is also expected for the Lead.
Nice to have
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
Experience with multi-entity accounting or consolidations, including international entities.
Background in implementing or migrating finance and accounting systems (e.g., ERP, payroll, expense management, AP).
Previous work with or for complex philanthropic organizations.
Familiarity with IRS accountable plan rules and U.S. nonprofit tax compliance.
Experience in treasury operations or the U.S. banking system.

Candidates must be able to consistently overlap with US working hours for at least three hours within a 9 am-6 pm PT workday.
