Senior Software Engineer

About the role

CloudZero is expanding its core platform team to manage increasing data complexity and a growing customer base. As a member of the Droptable team, you will focus on billing ingest and backend infrastructure, designing the systems that store and query data for our enterprise clients.

What you'll do

• Architect and refine data models, storage systems, and query structures to boost platform efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a proprietary query engine to support evolving analytical requirements.
• Engineer systems capable of handling large-scale customer datasets and intricate analytical needs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and engineering peers to create data-focused features.
• Enhance data infrastructure and internal workflows to support fast-paced development cycles.

Requirements

• Professional experience with Python.
• Strong command of SQL and practical experience using cloud-native data warehouses like Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
• Experience designing and tuning ETL frameworks and pipelines.
• Proficiency in data modeling and designing warehouses for analytical use cases.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues within large-scale data environments.
• Skill in explaining technical data concepts to non-technical business partners.

Nice to have

• Practical knowledge of Snowflake data stores.
• Experience with AWS Step Functions and AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with deploying machine learning pipelines.
