What you'll do
- Lead the design and evolution of sales compensation frameworks for all customer-facing roles, including sales, technical sales, partner sales, and customer success.
- Develop innovative compensation metrics that reflect Cloudflare's business model, such as consumption, adoption, and platform attach rates for AI and developer products.
- Establish a structured governance process for compensation planning and partner with operational teams for accurate execution and payouts.
- Create a multi-year strategic plan for the sales compensation design function, incorporating AI-driven enhancements.
- Drive discussions and present recommendations on compensation philosophy and strategic trade-offs to executive leadership, including the CRO, CFO, CPO, and COO.
- Build and deploy an AI-powered application to streamline compensation plan modeling, scenario analysis, and payout forecasting.
- AI to design and test incentive programs, including SPIFFs, and analyze their return on investment and impact on seller behavior.
- Oversee compensation enablement and change management for the global sales organization.
Requirements
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in sales compensation design, gained within a fast-paced technology environment or through management consulting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and AI-augmented workflows, with a preference for experience in building or directing the development of AI-powered internal applications.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to design new metrics suitable for evolving business models like consumption and AI monetization.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a track record of influencing C-level executives.
- Experience leading executive steering committee meetings and managing decision-making processes from inception to approval.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives involving teams such as Finance, HR, IT, Product, and GTM.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
