Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

This role involves leading the Threat Application Services team within Cloudforce One's Engineering group. You will guide engineers in developing and scaling the Cloudforce One Threat Events platform, external Threat Intel APIs, and backend systems that integrate Indicators of Compromise into products like WAF and Gateway for automated threat mitigation. Your responsibilities also include expanding the team's capabilities through hiring for next-generation agentic threat intelligence tools.

What you'll do

• Define the architectural direction and ensure the operational excellence of your team's services, meeting latency and reliability standards for Enterprise security operations.
• Foster the professional growth of your direct reports through mentorship and coaching.
• Collaborate with product managers and security researchers to transform complex threat data into intuitive, automated customer security experiences.
• Lead hiring initiatives to expand the engineering team's capacity.
• Be available for on-call duties outside of standard hours to address technical issues as needed.

Requirements

• 8 or more years of experience in software development, with a focus on Go, JavaScript, or distributed systems.
• 8 or more years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams, including responsibility for architectural direction and operational excellence of large-scale distributed security platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical debt and drive professional development through strong mentorship.
• Proven track record of planning and execution to deliver predictable, reliable products in a high-growth environment.
• Understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain and how to automate the ingestion and distribution of Indicators of Compromise (IPs, domains, hashes, JA3/4 fingerprints).
• Expertise in delivering scalable distributed systems and managing complex data pipelines.
• Experience transitioning teams from initial development to building world-class, reliable products.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
• Previous experience building high-performance APIs or platforms for threat intelligence, security operations, or large-scale data analytics.
• Experience with edge computing (e.g., Workers), SQL-at-the-edge (D1/SQLite), and building systems that scale to handle trillions of signals.
