As a Digital Customer Engineer, you will guide mid-market and commercial clients in the Asia Pacific region through their technical journey with Cloudflare. You will demonstrate how Cloudflare's platform solves real-world challenges, focusing on a digital-first approach to engagement. This role involves a high volume of customer interactions, from initial discovery to scaled adoption programs.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead technical discovery and validation for many pre-sales opportunities, including demos, proof-of-concepts, and solution design.
- Drive scaled onboarding for new customers using standard playbooks, group sessions, and self-serve resources.
- Run programs like webinars and digital events to help customers gain more value from Cloudflare.
- Translate complex technical features into clear, outcome-focused solutions.
- Develop and maintain reusable demo assets, scripts, and reference designs to improve team efficiency.
- Stay updated on Cloudflare products, internet technologies, and the competitive landscape.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a technical presales, solutions engineering, or consulting role.
- Strong understanding of internet fundamentals such as HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, networking concepts, and APIs.
- Experience with Zero Trust frameworks, SASE architectures, or cloud security platforms.
- Hands-on experience with scripting or development in Python, JavaScript, Go, or Bash, and comfort with APIs/CLIs.
- Proven ability to engage customers directly, including running demos, whiteboarding solutions, handling objections, and explaining complex concepts to both technical and business audiences.
- Comfortable using modern productivity and AI tools to scale output across many accounts.
- Comfortable working across multiple markets and time zones in the APAC region.
Nice to have
- Previous experience with SaaS security, CDN, networking, or developer platform vendors.
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and modern application architectures (serverless, containers, microservices).
- Understanding of common application security risks (e.g., CSRF, XSS, SQLi) and mitigation strategies.
- Experience with regulatory or compliance frameworks such as SOC-2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR.
- Track record of building reusable assets like demo environments, reference architectures, or presales tooling.
- Experience with customer adoption, onboarding, or scaled Customer Success programs.
