About the role
This role supports the IT infrastructure at Climate Analytics by assisting with daily operations, user support, and hardware maintenance. You will work alongside our IT Administrator and external partners to ensure staff have functional access to necessary systems. This position offers practical experience in IT administration, documentation, and process improvement within a climate-focused organization.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage IT support tickets by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and access issues.
- Configure and maintain laptops, focusing primarily on macOS with some Windows support.
- Assist with inventory management for hardware and peripherals.
- Support server monitoring and basic maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Verify data backups and system integrity.
- Create and update technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
- Implement security protocols such as encryption and access control.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an IT-related university program with at least 12 months remaining.
- Prior professional experience in IT administration or user support.
- Proficiency in English.
- Professional experience with macOS.
- Basic scripting skills for server management.
- Residency in the Berlin area.
- Availability for 100 percent onsite work during the probation period, transitioning to 80 percent onsite afterward.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and application communication.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of network or server concepts like SSH, FTP, and SSL.
- Experience with cloud systems or IT ticketing software.

Practical notes
- Compensation is 1420 EUR gross per month for a 20-hour week.
- Contract is fixed for 12 months with potential for extension.
