CLEAR is seeking Software Engineers to advance its identity platform. You will contribute to a secure, networked digital identity system that enhances experiences across various sectors, including travel, enterprise, healthcare, and financial services. This role involves taking ownership of complex technical challenges from initial design through to deployment, collaborating with product, design, security, and operations teams.

What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications for CLEAR's identity platform.
- Manage projects comprehensively, from technical investigation and architecture to implementation, rollout, and ongoing operational support.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to convert business needs into straightforward, scalable technical solutions.
- Enhance engineering quality by improving system reliability, performance, testing, observability, and the developer experience.
- Participate in architectural decisions and continuously improve the platform's scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Support team members through detailed code reviews, technical collaboration, and sharing engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience developing production applications.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native applications.
- Proven ability to own complex, cross-functional projects and drive them from concept to production.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in uncertain environments, making informed tradeoffs, and independently moving work forward.
- A collaborative approach with a desire to partner with others, improve engineering practices, and build products that deliver measurable customer and business impact.

Practical notes
The total compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000, comprising base salary and a new hire equity package in Restricted Stock Units. This role is eligible for refresh equity grants. Actual compensation varies based on location, education, skills, experience, and performance.
