Lead Product Manager, Identity & Evidence Verification

About the role

CLEAR is seeking a Product Lead to oversee the development of our identity and evidence verification platform. This position focuses on the systems that support both CLEAR Travel and CLEAR1, ensuring secure and reliable identity management across our consumer and enterprise products.

What you'll do

• Define the roadmap and strategy for identity and evidence services across all CLEAR surfaces, including mobile, web, and physical airport locations.
• Improve source verification processes to increase assurance levels and reduce operational costs.
• Manage the balance between identity proofing and continuous signal evaluation.
• Align platform capabilities with NIST frameworks like IAL2 and IAL3 while maintaining adaptability for diverse use cases.
• Create a reusable identity layer that functions independently of specific product lines.
• Develop systems for auditability and evidence storage that support interoperability with standards such as ISO 18013-7 mDoc.
• Optimize verification costs through vendor management, orchestration, and intelligent fallback logic.
• Establish observability and reporting tools to ensure data integrity and proactive regulatory compliance.
• Partner with engineering, legal, and operations to translate complex requirements into actionable product direction.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, specifically within security, fintech, identity, or highly regulated sectors.
• Technical proficiency in distributed architectures, backend systems, and API design.
• Deep knowledge of authentication, identity proofing, and fraud prevention methods, including biometrics, document verification, and device intelligence.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-63 or comparable identity assurance standards.
• Proven ability to manage multi-quarter projects across complex technical environments.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on metrics-driven decision making and cost efficiency.
• Ability to manage stakeholders across multiple cross-functional teams.
