Technical Revenue Accounting Lead at Checkr.
About the role
Checkr is seeking a finance professional to join our FinOps team to manage revenue recognition and deal structure analysis. You will act as a primary advisor for accounting policy and process automation while working with cross-functional departments to support company growth.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage ASC 606 compliance and serve as the main point of contact for complex revenue recognition, contract reviews, and pricing model assessments.
- Oversee the end-to-end revenue close process for month-end and quarter-end cycles.
- Consult with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and RevOps to provide accounting guidance on new product launches and deal structures.
- Develop and deploy AI-driven tools to automate quote-to-cash workflows.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and ensure SOX compliance for all revenue-related controls.
- Lead special projects to improve data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with preference for Big 4 and industry backgrounds.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
- Proven ability to build and ship AI agents or tools using platforms such as Claude, Lovable, Cursor, or Gemini.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and BI tools.
- Ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Practical notes
- Compensation: San Francisco range is $151,000 to $178,000 USD; Denver range is $128,000 to $151,000 USD.
- Benefits include 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage, a $25,000 reimbursement for fertility/adoption/parental planning, a monthly wellness stipend, and a learning/development allowance.
- Relocation assistance may be provided for those moving to a hub location.
- Employees are expected to work from the office 3+ days per week, with lunch provided five days a week and a commuter stipend.
