Staff Software Engineer, Integrations at Checkr.
About the role
The Integrations team manages over 200 connections between the Checkr platform and major HR tech ecosystems like Workday, iCIMS, and SAP SuccessFactors. As a Staff Engineer, you will architect complex data workflows and define the technical standards for how our services interact with external partner APIs.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the full product lifecycle from initial design and ideation through to production deployment.
- Work alongside Product, Design, and Data teams to launch experiments and deliver new features.
- Lead technical initiatives that improve system scalability and reduce technical debt across the organization.
- Mentor engineers and establish development best practices through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership during annual and quarterly planning cycles.
- Maintain high standards for the reliability, performance, and quality of our services.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a project leadership capacity.
- Proficiency in backend development using languages such as Ruby or Node.js.
- Working knowledge of frontend technologies like JavaScript and React.
- Demonstrated success building scalable systems with high performance, observability, and automated testing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience with A/B testing frameworks.

Practical notes
- Salary range in San Francisco, CA: $224,000 to $264,000 USD.
- Salary range in Denver, CO: $190,000 to $223,000 USD.
