Staff Product Manager, Hiring Fraud Solutions at Checkr
About the role
Checkr is creating the identity layer for hiring to combat a growing wave of AI-enabled fraud, synthetic identities, and credential forgery. As the product leader for Hiring Fraud solutions, you will define how organizations verify real candidates while blocking bad actors across every stage of the hiring process. You will partner with engineering and operations to deliver products that set a new trust standard in recruitment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own strategy and roadmap for all Identity Risk and Hiring Fraud products, covering dashboards, APIs, and pre-built partner integrations
- Perform market analysis, competitive research, and analyst engagement to spot high-value opportunities and anticipate customer needs
- Lead cross-functional work with Product Marketing on go-to-market plans, coordinate with other product teams for integrations, and align with Business Development on partner embedding
- Build and prioritize a multi-release feature roadmap
- Serve as the voice of strategic customers, forming direct relationships and advocating for their requirements
- Track product performance and identify growth opportunities
- Represent Checkr at customer meetings, industry events, and through community channels and social media
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
- 7+ years of product management experience focused on risk, fraud prevention, and identity verification products such as identity proofing, document verification, biometrics, and hiring-fraud signals
- Strong knowledge of fraud detection frameworks including threat modeling, risk scoring, anomaly detection, identity spoofing detection, and data-driven decision-making
- Deep familiarity with recruiting ecosystems, ATS platforms, recruiting workflows, and hiring compliance
- Track record of building scalable, extensible platforms that address evolving fraud threats rather than one-off fixes
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, influencing engineering, operations, legal, and sales without direct authority
- Bias for action, resilience through ambiguity, and ownership of outcomes
