About the role
Checkr is seeking a Lead Brand Designer to guide visual storytelling and design systems within our Brand Studio. You will manage the creative quality of our output while building scalable assets that empower the broader marketing organization.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain brand standards, templates, and reusable assets for company-wide use.
- Provide art direction for projects, including photography and tone of voice.
- Utilize Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and AI-assisted workflows to improve production speed and quality.
- Manage and review work from contractors and freelancers to ensure brand consistency.
- Design high-quality creative across multiple channels with a focus on typography and layout.
- Collaborate with marketing stakeholders and present design strategies to leadership.
- Maintain high output quality across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-moving environment.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in-house or at an agency focusing on B2B or tech brands.
- Portfolio demonstrating mastery in art direction, typography, layout, and visual storytelling.
- Proven ability to build and implement scalable brand systems.
- Experience managing external creative partners and contractors.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to defend design decisions to senior executives.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
