Staff AI Enablement Engineer

About the role

Checkr is seeking a technical leader to drive AI adoption and solution engineering across all internal departments. You will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and functional AI tools by building custom workflows, training staff, and managing the organization-wide AI strategy.

What you'll do

• Partner with internal teams to identify high-impact AI use cases and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Design, develop, and deploy custom AI solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures, and agentic workflows.
• Create and maintain reusable resources, including prompt libraries, playbooks, and workflow templates.
• Facilitate company-wide AI hackathons and recurring office hours to support employee experimentation.
• Evaluate and recommend AI tools through a build-versus-buy framework.
• Lead training sessions and workshops to increase AI fluency across the company.
• Collaborate with Security, Data Engineering, and Business Systems to ensure scalable and compliant AI integration.
• Contribute to the organizational AI roadmap and present progress to stakeholders and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, solutions engineering, or technical enablement.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing AI solutions, including generative AI, machine learning, LLMs, RAG, and agentic frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and experience integrating LLMs into applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proven ability to manage enablement programs like workshops and hackathons.
• Experience translating non-technical stakeholder requirements into scoped technical deliverables.
