AI Conversation Designer

About the role

Checkr is looking for a detail-oriented professional to manage and refine conversational AI agents. You will work within the Service Design team to improve user experiences and operational efficiency through data-driven design and prompt engineering.

What you'll do

• Manage the full lifecycle of AI agents, including deployment, testing, and prompt engineering.
• Analyze conversation logs and performance metrics to identify and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to find automation opportunities that maintain high service standards.
• Create and update documentation for agent workflows and processes.
• Troubleshoot agent behavior and resolve technical issues within conversation flows.
• Build dynamic content using conditional logic and personalization.
• Execute special projects to support new AI capabilities.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in chatbot administration, knowledge management, or conversational AI.
• Practical knowledge of NLU and NLP concepts.
• Experience with conversational AI platforms.
• Proficiency in intent mapping, fallback strategies, and utterance training.
• Strong ability to interpret performance dashboards and customer feedback.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Practical notes

• Salary range (Denver): $90,000 to $112,000 USD.
• Salary range (Nashville): $82,000 to $102,000 USD.
