Account Director - Strategic Partnerships at Checkr
About the role
This position leads high-stakes partnership negotiations for Checkr, a data platform company serving over 140,000 customers including Uber, Airbnb, Doordash, Pennymac, and Anthropic. You will own the commercial and contractual strategy for the company's most important alliance relationships, structuring both new agreements and renegotiations of existing partnerships. The role reports to the Head of Partnerships and works across Strategic Partner Managers, Finance, Revenue Operations, and the Executive team.

What you'll do
- Own negotiation strategy from start to finish for multi-year partnership agreements, including both new deals and renewals of long-standing relationships
- Design deal structures that incorporate product integration elements and incentive frameworks where partner success and Checkr success reinforce each other
- Collaborate with Strategic Partner Managers to convert relationship insights and go-to-market strategy into negotiation approaches grounded in partnership realities
- Build and stress-test financial models with Finance and RevOps teams, quantifying trade-offs and value of key terms to guide internal decisions and negotiation tactics
- Maintain executive-level alignment internally and with partners to speed up decisions and navigate organizational complexity
- Create repeatable negotiation frameworks and playbooks that raise the standard for how the BD organization structures and closes strategic agreements
Requirements
- 8+ years of total experience with at least 4+ years leading complex, high-value commercial negotiations in partnerships, business development, alliance management, or corporate development
- Proven ability to structure deals with significant product integration components, including negotiating data rights, integration commitments, and technical milestones as commercial terms
- Track record of renegotiating long-standing strategic partnerships while preserving trust and realigning incentives for mutual benefit
- Strong financial skills including building and testing deal models, understanding P&L impact, and translating contract terms into clear business outcomes
- Partnership-oriented commercial mindset focused on building long-term structures that benefit both parties
- Bias for action with ability to move quickly, stay resilient through ambiguity, and deliver meaningful outcomes
