Staff Embedded/Firmware Engineer 1

About the role

Celestica is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Hardware Platform Services group in Austin. You will contribute to the design and development of cloud infrastructure, including AI servers, networking switches, storage, and compute systems.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Define technical solutions and gather requirements for system-wide projects.
• Create and maintain application software and drivers for next-generation GPU and CPU data center systems.
• Build and update software libraries to support CPU and GPU computing.
• Oversee code quality for production releases.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other team members.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering.
• 9 to 15 years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded systems and C or C++ programming.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with device drivers such as I2C and PCIE, plus knowledge of Linux Kernel, Secure Boot, BMC, and BIOS.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware-software interfaces.
• Proven expertise in board bring-up and Linux kernel enablement or upstreaming.
• Ability to communicate complex technical requirements through architecture specifications and presentations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with DPU, NICs, memory, and CPU architecture.
• Background in developing low-level software for data center hardware.
• Experience with ROCm or CUDA GPU libraries.
