SOC Analyst

About the role

CBTS is seeking a SOC Analyst to join the team in Farmington Hills for a six-month contract. This position focuses on identifying and responding to security threats to ensure the integrity of the enterprise environment.

What you'll do

• Review and interpret alerts from SIEM, ticketing, endpoint, cloud, and network security systems.
• Execute initial triage and classification of incidents using established playbooks.
• Investigate potential phishing, malware, and data security events.
• Carry out containment and remediation steps with support from senior analysts.
• Route complex or verified threats to the appropriate escalation points.
• Record investigation details and remediation steps accurately.
• Help senior staff create security procedures and knowledge base content.
• Work with operations and engineering teams to improve detection and resolve issues.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience in IT or security.
• Minimum 2 years of professional background in cybersecurity, IT operations, or incident response.
• Proficiency with security monitoring, logging, and investigation workflows.
• Experience navigating IT operations environments, ticketing systems, and security tools.
• Familiarity with various operating systems.

Nice to have

• Bachelor degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
