About the role
We are looking for a Data Scientist to enhance a referral initiative within a consumer tax preparation product for the FY27 season. This role requires collaboration with various teams to define, assess, and refine crucial metrics throughout the customer referral process.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Streamline KPI reporting and identify opportunities for the referral program during peak season to minimize manual reporting efforts.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and Product Design to design and implement A/B tests, covering all aspects from instrumentation to statistical analysis.
- Perform ad hoc and causal analyses to assist in product decisions and shape business strategies.
- Create new reporting capabilities by developing comprehensive metrics, data pipelines, and dashboards.
- Establish key funnel metrics and enhance backend metrics to lessen dependence on front-end clickstream data.
- Improve reporting pipelines and dashboards in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Build self-service experimentation tools that align with testing frameworks used in related product areas.
- Contribute to broader product development efforts and learning plans with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Proficient in SQL with strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience in designing, executing, and analyzing A/B tests.
- Familiarity with causal inference methodologies.
- Background in time series forecasting.
- Relevant experience in the Financial Technology (FinTech) sector.
- Interest or experience with AI-driven workflows and contemporary AI productivity tools.
- Proven track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to promote data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in defining business metrics, product funnel metrics, and experimentation frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to convert analytical insights into actionable business strategies.
- Experience in developing scalable reporting solutions, dashboards, and automated analytics processes.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in consumer product analytics, FinTech, or growth/product teams.
- Experience in creating analytics solutions that have directly impacted product strategy.
- Interest in adopting new AI-enabled analytics tools and workflows.
Education
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.
Pay & Benefits Summary
Compensation up to $80 per hour on a W2 basis.
