This role translates complex data into clear strategic narratives that guide major business decisions in the automotive retail space. You will own the analysis behind how we allocate marketing dollars and optimize customer experiences on our digital platforms. What you'll do
- Translate raw data into consumable, actionable narratives while regularly consulting with stakeholders including senior leadership and sharing strategic recommendations.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Strategic Partnerships, and Operations teams to assess performance metrics and identify high impact opportunities for improvement.
- Explore and segment complex data sets to uncover key behavioral drivers, then design and build models, dashboards, and visualizations that support product teams.
- Design rigorous split tests, interpret results with statistical rigor, and communicate the broader business implications to guide strategic direction.
- Take ownership of the product analytics track, enabling and empowering the constantly evolving customer experience that positions Carvana as a leader in the industry.
- Leverage strong SQL skills to manipulate large data sets in warehouse environments, ensuring accuracy and reliability in analytical outputs.
- Apply familiarity with Python or R to build analytical tools and models that surface trends and underlying performance drivers.
- Utilize experience in A/B testing or experimentation to evaluate product changes and quantify their effect on customer behavior and operational outcomes.
- Demonstrate excellence in implementation with attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Contribute to business strategy or consulting type analyses that evaluate market opportunities and support long term growth initiatives.
- Use prior experience in one or more areas such as statistical analysis, regression, or business strategy to solve nebulous questions about consumer decision making.

Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Computational Math, Econometrics, Engineering, or a similar field from an accredited undergraduate institution.
- Possess 1 to 3 or more years of experience in analytics or quantitative practices specifically within data warehouse environments.
- Show strong comfort navigating and manipulating large data sets to identify meaningful trends and underlying performance drivers.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Python or R as a preferred skill for advanced analytical work.
- Maintain strong experience in SQL as a core requirement for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.
- Have experience in at least one of these areas such as A/B testing or experimentation, business strategy or consulting, and statistical analysis using methods like regression.
- Exhibit the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment where goals and deadlines change frequently.
- Prove demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in solving ambiguous problems using data to answer complex questions about consumer behavior.
- Show excellence in implementation, including meticulous attention to detail and robust organizational skills.
