Cartesia is building AI that interacts with the world through human-like perception. We are seeking a technical leader to oversee our data infrastructure strategy and implementation, directly influencing the performance of our foundational models.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-modal data strategy covering pre-training and post-training phases.
• Build and maintain high-throughput pipelines for processing audio, text, and video data.
• Integrate data systems with training and inference infrastructure to optimize GPU utilization and model evaluation.
• Implement strict data quality controls and establish feedback loops between dataset composition and model performance.
• Manage external data vendor relationships and identify new data acquisition opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in ML data infrastructure, specifically regarding training pipelines, versioning, and large-scale data loading.
• Technical proficiency with multi-modal data, particularly audio formats, augmentation, and streaming.
• Strong software engineering skills with a focus on writing maintainable, tested code.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects within cross-functional, research-oriented environments.
• Understanding of generative model training and inference workflows.
