About the role

Cartesia is establishing its first office in India and seeks a Software Engineer to contribute to real-time multimodal intelligence development. This role involves building the foundational systems that power our advanced AI models. You will play a key part in bringing innovative research into practical applications.

What you'll do

• Design and implement low-latency, scalable, and dependable model inference and serving infrastructure for SSM foundation models.
• Collaborate closely with research and product engineers to transform new research into functional products.
• Develop highly parallel and high-quality data processing and evaluation systems for foundation model training.
• Independently shape products and directly influence how advanced AI is used across various devices and applications.

Requirements

• Strong engineering abilities, including comfort with complex codebases and monorepos.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or ML platform engineering.
• Attention to detail in crafting clean and maintainable code.
• Adaptability to new technologies and ability to quickly learn the existing tech stack.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high performance, reliability, and observability needs.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, capable of delivering initial results in ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• Background or experience with machine learning and generative models.
