You will guide data strategy, working across different teams to identify model limitations, gather high-quality data, and build new processes from the ground up. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex, undefined problems and quickly implementing solutions.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with research and modeling teams to pinpoint model weaknesses through evaluations and direct customer feedback.
- Develop, acquire, and maintain evaluation systems that define model quality, basing them on customer issues and continuous benchmarking.
- Establish new methods for collecting human data to improve model performance, creating data pipelines and overseeing data quality from start to finish.
- Stay current with AI research, understanding how different datasets impact model capabilities and advising on future data collection.
- Adopt a commercial mindset, engaging with customers, supporting the go-to-market team, and contributing to revenue growth.
Requirements
- 3 to 10 years of experience in roles with significant responsibility, such as a founder, general manager, or strategy/operations at a startup.
- Strong technical understanding of data and operations, including required proficiency in SQL.
- Demonstrates high standards, a proactive approach, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and fast-paced environments.
- Collaborative, humble, and dedicated to team and company success.
Nice to have
- Experience in AI/ML data operations or managing large-scale operations.
- Background in workflows related to audio, speech, or language.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or similar fields.
