Senior NetSuite Developer, Finance Systems
Job description
Senior NetSuite Developer, Finance Systems at Careers at Eucalyptus.
About the role
This position ensures the smooth operation of Eucalyptus's financial systems across six global markets. You will be a key link between the Sydney-based Finance team and the NetSuite platform, developing solutions to streamline financial closing processes. Your work will directly contribute to faster, more accurate month-end closes as the company expands.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Drive NetSuite development for month-end close, creating SuiteScript routines, scheduled jobs, saved searches, workflows, and reports to minimize manual effort and shorten timelines.
- Translate financial and accounting needs into well-structured SuiteScript solutions, understanding the impact on the General Ledger, sub-ledgers, intercompany eliminations, and multi-currency postings.
- Manage initiatives from start to finish, contributing to functional and technical requirement documents during scoping, and challenging designs that pose accounting or audit risks.
- Develop, test, and implement SuiteScript 2.x (User Event, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, Suitelet, Client), SuiteFlow workflows, and customizations that follow NetSuite best practices and the OneWorld multi-subsidiary structure.
- Collaborate with the broader Systems team in Australia and the UK to maintain platform consistency, overseeing the finance-systems domain in Australia while aligning with overall integration and architecture choices.
- Guide junior team members, improve quality through code reviews and testing standards, and document changes for future self-service by Finance and Systems teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on NetSuite development experience, with deep knowledge of SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteFlow, saved searches, and SuiteQL.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and their application within NetSuite, including journals, sub-ledgers, revenue recognition, intercompany eliminations, multi-currency, and the downstream effects of scripted changes on the GL.
- Proven track record of assisting a Finance team through month-end close, including creating or maintaining routines, scripts, and workflows that enhance speed and accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage small to medium-sized projects from beginning to end: scoping, design input on FRDs and TRDs, development, sandbox testing, UAT support, and production deployment.
- Excellent written communication and a business-oriented perspective, capable of working across AU, UK, DE, JP, CA, and PH time zones asynchronously.
- Proximity to Sydney is a strong advantage due to the Finance team's location.
Nice to have
- Experience with a multi-subsidiary, multi-currency NetSuite OneWorld environment, especially during audits, statutory reporting, or system migrations.
- Familiarity with SuiteScript-related tools like Celigo, BigQuery exports, or accounting integrations with Stripe, Airwallex, or Shopify.
- Previous experience collaborating with a distributed systems or finance-systems team across multiple time zones.
