About the role

Careem is seeking a Program Manager to lead cross-functional technical initiatives within our Rides Product team. You will coordinate complex projects, manage third-party integrations, and ensure high-quality delivery across our mobility services.

What you'll do

• Partner with engineering, product, design, data, and operations teams to plan and execute initiatives with multiple dependencies.
• Align internal stakeholders and external partners to meet project timelines and accountability standards.
• Evaluate technical architecture to identify risks, trade-offs, and cross-team bottlenecks.
• Provide clear status updates, milestone tracking, and blocker reporting to leadership.
• Manage incident response, conduct post-mortems, and implement improvements for systemic resilience.
• Oversee go-live processes, including rollout gates, rollback procedures, and readiness sign-offs.
• Monitor resourcing needs to maintain delivery speed and quality.
• Maintain documentation for decision logs, dependency registers, and project status.
• Integrate AI tools into workflows to synthesize meeting data, identify risks, and improve stakeholder communication.
• Refine internal processes and contribute to dashboards that track delivery health.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager in an engineering-focused environment.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical understanding of distributed systems and architectural trade-offs.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts such as SSDLC, testing, API monitoring, and SLAs.
• Proficiency in Agile frameworks like Scrum or SAFe.
• Experience managing programs involving third-party integrations and external APIs.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and dashboarding software.
• Operational experience using AI tools for risk assessment and project synthesis.
• Ability to explain complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience navigating ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
