About the role

Careem functions as the everything app for the Middle East, managing rides, food, groceries, and payments for millions of users. As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead design strategy for a core segment of the platform, moving beyond execution to shape the vision of your product area. You will integrate modern AI tools into your workflow to accelerate prototyping and design delivery while maintaining high standards for user experience.

What you'll do

• Own the design lifecycle from initial concept to final launch, focusing on user outcomes and business metrics.
• Partner with engineering and product leads to define project roadmaps and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
• Deliver comprehensive design work that accounts for edge cases, localization, and RTL requirements.
• Maintain and extend the internal design system to ensure consistency across the super app.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools to build high-fidelity prototypes and testable artifacts rapidly.
• Lead user research, including interviews and discovery sessions, to validate design concepts.
• Analyze product data to measure the success of shipped features and refine future iterations.
• Present design strategies and decisions to executive stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products at scale within fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Proven ability to lead design for major product areas and translate complex business challenges into successful design visions.
• Deep expertise in interaction design, visual design, and design thinking methodologies.
• Demonstrated fluency in using AI tools daily for research, prototyping, and content synthesis.
• Strong track record of operating as a strategic partner to product and engineering leadership.
• Proficiency in managing design systems and contributing to their evolution.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to document and present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• A portfolio showcasing mobile-first work with detailed case studies on process and measurable impact.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for the Middle East market, specifically regarding Arabic/RTL products or multi-vertical super apps.
• Experience building AI-powered features such as personalization, assistants, or generative tools.
