About the role
Carbon is transforming manufacturing through additive technology. This role involves leading complex software engineering projects to advance additive manufacturing. You will collaborate with the software engineering team to deliver high-impact technical initiatives.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead and organize intricate software development programs.
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed project plans.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, budgets, and interdependencies.
- Manage relationships with key vendors.
- Proactively identify and reduce risks in product and service development.
- Facilitate clear communication within and between teams, escalating issues as needed.
- Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on key initiatives.
- Guide technical decision-making and help teams reach agreement.
- Define and participate in software team processes (stand-ups, planning, backlog grooming, on-call, deployments).
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering Managers to shape software team structures, rhythms, and culture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management focused on software delivery.
- Familiarity with standard software development workflows (e.g., Agile) and key lifecycles (e.g., release management).
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex technical projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to connect across various disciplines.
- Capacity to understand and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Extensive experience with software development lifecycles.
- Experience with common project management and software development tools.
- Experience incorporating AI for relevant tasks.
Nice to have
- Experience in 3D printing or general manufacturing.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, Manufacturing Execution Systems, or manufacturing-focused Quality Management Systems.
- Experience deploying software to physical devices in addition to cloud-based solutions.

Practical notes
This is a hybrid role. Compensation includes equity, benefits, and time off programs. Salary may be adjusted based on geographical location if not based in Sunnyvale.
