Senior Software Operations Coordinator

About the role

Carbon, Inc. is seeking a coordinator to manage the internal processes that maintain software productivity. You will serve as the primary point of contact for operational tasks, ensuring that engineering workflows, vendor management, and system access remain organized and efficient.

What you'll do

• Coordinate the full software release cycle while supporting technical decision-making by engineering leads.
• Oversee on-call rotations, ensuring fair distribution and managing coverage gaps.
• Administer access and account provisioning across cloud IAM, internal systems, and SaaS platforms.
• Manage vendor relationships, including subscription renewals and escalation paths.
• Handle support ticket triage, resolving operational issues and connecting Support with Engineering as needed.
• Maintain team documentation, runbooks, and internal tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Slack.
• Monitor cloud costs, procurement workflows, and team health metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software operations, IT operations, developer experience, or technical coordination.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to manage tasks to completion and act as a central point of contact for the team.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication for interactions with engineering, finance, and external vendors.
• Experience with Jira, GitHub, Slack, SaaS administration, and PagerDuty.
• Understanding of cloud IAM basics and the ability to exercise judgment on when to escalate issues.

Nice to have

• Prior experience managing on-call schedules or software release coordination.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and access review procedures.
• Experience with vendor procurement or cloud cost reporting.

• Compensation is subject to geographic adjustment if you are not based in the Sunnyvale or Santa Clara office.
