About the role
Carbon is seeking an experienced professional to manage critical administrative functions including benefits, leave, and immigration compliance. You will serve as a key point of contact for employee inquiries while maintaining high standards for data accuracy and vendor management.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee benefits programs such as 401(k) and international plans while managing relationships with brokers and carriers.
- Handle workers compensation claims and manage leaves of absence in accordance with FMLA, ADA, and state regulations like CFRA.
- Act as the primary contact for immigration matters, coordinating with legal counsel and tracking case status for visas and green card filings.
- Administer employee recognition platforms and coordinate well-being initiatives.
- Resolve complex employee inquiries regarding benefits and operations with high discretion.
- Provide guidance to staff on policy matters and support HRIS data integrity.
- Execute compliance-related training programs including anti-harassment initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree with 5+ years of experience, or master degree with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent professional background.
- Proficiency in benefits administration, leave management, and immigration compliance.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues independently.
- Experience using Workday or a similar HRIS.
- Must be based in Sunnyvale, CA.
- No relocation assistance or visa sponsorship available for this role.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as CEBS, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Experience with leave management platforms like Cocoon.
- Background supporting a global workforce, specifically in the UK, Germany, Japan, or Mexico.
