About the role
Carbon is seeking a leader to oversee our software engineering organization and guide the evolution of our additive manufacturing technology. You will manage the integration of hardware and cloud systems to support high-volume, customized production for global customers.

What you'll do
- Direct the software engineering department, balancing high-level architectural strategy with hands-on technical involvement.
- Build and refine systems that automate the design and preparation of custom parts for a complex manufacturing ecosystem.
- Enhance the performance, user experience, and reliability of our subscription-based hardware products.
- Improve developer productivity by evolving internal tools and engineering processes.
- Partner with executive leadership and product teams to align technical initiatives with business goals.
- Scale architecture supporting diverse applications, including dental, automotive, and sports equipment.
- Maintain high availability for global factory services while managing costs and performance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience delivering software-enabled hardware products alongside cloud-based solutions.
- Proven leadership background, preferably within manufacturing or industrial technology sectors.
- Ability to manage and inspire diverse engineering teams.
- Strong analytical skills and a track record of driving complex software projects.
- Clear communication skills with a focus on simplicity.
