Senior Data Scientist, AI Foundations at Capital One.
About the role
Join the AI Foundations Specialist Models Data Science team to develop generative AI solutions for the Capital One mobile app. You will build scalable machine learning architectures that power personalized customer experiences, including the Eno digital assistant and content search features.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deploy AI products for 80 million customers.
- Design, train, evaluate, and validate machine learning and NLP models throughout the full development lifecycle.
- Fine-tune and adapt Large Language Models for customer-facing applications.
- Translate complex technical findings into actionable business goals for non-technical stakeholders.
- Operationalize models into resilient production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science) with 2 years of data analytics experience, OR a Master degree/MBA in a quantitative field.
- Engineering mindset with a history of delivering models at scale for training and inference.
- Expertise in training language or computer vision models, including subdomains like RLHF, self-supervised learning, training optimization, or explainability.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Nice to have
- Master or PhD in a STEM field.
- Experience with AWS.
- At least 2 years of experience with Python, Scala, or R.
- At least 2 years of experience with machine learning.
- At least 2 years of experience with SQL.
Skills & tools
- Pytorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, Lightning, VectorDBs, AWS Ultraclusters.
