About the role

You will define the technical strategy for the Grow Group, focusing on AI-driven marketing tools. This position involves building and scaling backend systems that support conversational AI, content generation, and data integration for millions of users.

What you'll do

• Improve the reliability, latency, and cost-efficiency of the AI Ad Reasoner backend.
• Collaborate with the CORE team to deploy image and video generation models using orchestration pipelines and feature flags.
• Develop a centralized data platform to ingest and normalize information from Shopify, TikTok, Meta, and Google.
• Enhance performance across the AI stack by optimizing caching, streaming, batching, and request routing.
• Create shared libraries and frameworks for prompt management, LLM agents, and asynchronous job handling.
• Coordinate technical efforts across the Media, Design Agent, Canva AI, Inference, CORE, and Grow teams.
• Guide architectural decisions, mentor staff, and oversee roadmaps for operational excellence.

Requirements

• Extensive experience operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in a production environment.
• High proficiency in Java and modern backend service architecture.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, specifically concurrency, performance engineering, and distributed systems.
• Ability to collaborate with machine learning researchers to manage inference latency and model-serving trade-offs.
• Proven history of leading technical projects that involve multiple engineering teams.
• Clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to product, infrastructure, and machine learning stakeholders.
• Dedication to mentoring engineers and improving team-wide technical standards.
