About the role
Canva is looking for an SEO Generalist to support growth across the MENA region, specifically focusing on Egypt and the GCC. This position involves executing local search strategies, managing outreach campaigns, and optimizing content to help the company reach its goal of serving one in five internet users.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Execute link-building campaigns and identify high-authority publishers for brand mentions across the Arabic web.
- Secure placements on reputable sites and directories to improve visibility in AI-generated search answers.
- Monitor and report on Canva's presence in AI answers for priority Arabic search queries.
- Reclaim unlinked brand mentions and conduct outreach using established frameworks like guest posting and broken-link building.
- Create and optimize SEO-driven content for landing pages and blog posts in Arabic.
- Collaborate with the MENA SEO Lead and local marketing teams to align outreach with broader regional strategies.
- Experiment with AI tools and new outreach tactics to scale impact and improve search performance.
Requirements
- Native proficiency in Arabic with a strong grasp of regional dialects.
- Professional-level English communication skills.
- Experience in digital PR, link building, content marketing, or SEO.
- Ability to manage multiple outreach projects and maintain detailed campaign documentation.
- Experience working with CMS platforms and structured content briefs.
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, or Screaming Frog.
- Proficiency with outreach platforms like Pitchbox or BuzzStream.
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from the Dubai office.
Nice to have
- Basic knowledge of LLMs and experience using AI for research or drafting.
- Experience creating assets specifically for outreach campaigns.
- Familiarity with the search engine and social media landscape across the MENA region.
