About the role

This role leads the AI strategy for the Productivity group, focusing on integrating machine learning into core tools like Docs, Sheets, and Presentations. You will bridge the gap between product vision and technical execution by enabling LLMs and agents to perform complex user tasks.

• Define how ML and AI add value across Productivity user journeys.
• Develop interfaces that allow LLMs and agents to interact with existing product features.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to determine the AI roadmap.
• Establish technical standards and patterns for ML deployment across the group.
• Resolve complex technical challenges that span multiple teams.
• Mentor engineers to improve applied ML practices.
• Balance rapid delivery with the stability required for a global user base.
• Align ML priorities with shifting product requirements and user needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience deploying ML and AI solutions to solve production-level product problems.
• Ability to define technical direction independently in ambiguous environments.
• Pragmatic approach that prioritizes shipping useful features over model perfection.
• Experience working across teams to influence product roadmaps.
• Comfort with a method-agnostic approach, selecting the right tool for the specific task.
