About the role

Join camunda as a Senior Technical Writer to shape the documentation for our agentic orchestration platform. You will be an integral part of product teams, ensuring our technical content is clear, accurate, and enhances the developer experience. This role offers the chance to become a subject matter expert and directly influence how developers interact with our technology.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Take full responsibility for the documentation of assigned product areas, working closely with product teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure documentation aligns with product development and user needs.
• Develop deep expertise in camunda products to create practical and effective content for developers.
• Manage the entire documentation lifecycle, from planning and writing to review and ongoing maintenance.
• Champion the user's perspective in product discussions to improve the overall user experience.
• Analyze user feedback and data to continually refine documentation quality and structure.
• Work with the broader Documentation team to share knowledge and improve team processes.
• Contribute to the technical upkeep and enhancement of our documentation infrastructure.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, with a portfolio showcasing developer-focused materials like guides, API references, and tutorials.
• Practical experience with technologies such as Java, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker, and the ability to thoroughly understand and test complex software.
• Experience documenting both on-premise software installations and SaaS offerings.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt content for various technical audiences, including engineers and business analysts.
• Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows, Docusaurus, Git, and Markdown.
• Ability and willingness to actively use camunda products.

Nice to have

• Experience managing and improving documentation site infrastructure and deployment processes, particularly with Docusaurus.
• Background in software engineering or proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Comfort in refining and promoting a technical writing style guide across teams.
