Senior Product Manager

About the role

Camunda is seeking a Senior Product Manager to guide the development of its Core Platform, including Zeebe, the central cloud-native workflow engine. This position requires a blend of technical acumen and product strategy, focusing on customer needs, system scalability, performance, reliability, and security for distributed systems. You will define and advance the product roadmap for foundational platform capabilities.

What you'll do

• Shape the market-driven vision, strategy, and product requirements for the Camunda product suite.
• Gather and prioritize feedback from the community, customers, partners, and internal teams to drive innovation in the core platform.
• Assess Camunda's market position, competitive landscape, and demand, collaborating with Pre-Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, and Field teams.
• Equip self-managed teams with clear direction for developing appropriate epics.

Requirements

• Experience working with platform products utilized by enterprise IT departments, such as developers, automation engineers, and operations teams.
• A minimum of 5 years in product management, with experience in distributed systems, technical SaaS, PaaS, or cloud-native products.
• Proficiency in OKRs, customer research, product design, Go-To-Market planning, backlog management, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication abilities for internal collaboration and external customer presentations.
• A solid understanding of distributed systems concepts, including scalability, fault tolerance, event-driven architecture, and performance optimization.
• Willingness or ability to use the Camunda product.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with IT platforms in the banking, financial services, or insurance sectors.
• Technical knowledge related to configuring, deploying, and managing the lifecycle of platform products.
