Job description
Senior Product Builder at camunda
About the role
This position involves shaping the future of our Connectors Experience by blending product strategy, user understanding, and hands-on development. You will independently tackle complex challenges, define success, and deliver tangible results within an AI-first development environment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Identify and clarify significant user needs within the Connectors Experience by engaging with customers, forward-deployed engineers, and internal teams.
- Establish clear measures of success and define the scope for new features before development commences.
- Influence product direction through practical decision-making, rapid iteration, and a focus on solving core user problems.
- Design, build, refine, release, and continuously improve product features across the Connectors Experience, taking full ownership of complex functionalities.
- Utilize AI tools to expedite initial drafts, implementation phases, iteration cycles, and learning, while upholding high quality standards.
- Evaluate AI-generated and peer code for maintainability, architectural alignment, and user experience quality, and disseminate reusable patterns to elevate team output.
- Collaborate with fellow builders and product strategists to transform concepts into delivered products.
- Enhance the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of the product delivery process within the team.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide third-level support to ensure system reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in independently delivering complex software products, beyond simply executing predefined tasks.
- Proficiency in navigating product strategy, user experience design, and hands-on development.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous situations and translating open-ended problems into actionable steps.
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities in a remote-first, team-based setting, including guiding others in task breakdown and sequencing.
- A curious mindset towards users, a capacity for quick learning, and a drive to improve products through iterative development.
- Practical experience in independently building and shipping sophisticated software products, not solely managing roadmaps or requirements.
- Demonstrated AI-native development practices, including the ability to manage AI-assisted workflows for complex features, troubleshoot AI output issues, and refine prompts rather than just editing results.
- The ability to clearly articulate and shape the intended user experience across entire features or product areas, encompassing flow, hierarchy, states, copy, and accessibility, and to identify systemic UX issues early.
- Sound product and customer intuition, enabling the translation of vague direction into clear product approaches, defining success metrics, intelligently scoping work, and knowing when sufficient evidence supports proceeding.
- Solid technical judgment within an established architecture, assessing implementation quality beyond basic functionality, including maintainability, test coverage, and architectural fit, with the capacity to contribute beyond frontend development over time.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with workflow software, orchestration tools, operations tooling, or similar technical product domains.
- Experience working within small, highly autonomous teams with broad responsibilities spanning discovery, design, and delivery.
- Familiarity with connector development, connector marketplaces, and technical partnerships.
- A history of independently planning and conducting validation activities, synthesizing findings into concrete product or UX changes, and contributing to team practices around lightweight product validation.
- Experience mentoring other developers or improving quality standards across teams.
