Manager, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering at camunda
About the role
This position involves leading a team responsible for the cloud infrastructure powering Camunda's SaaS platform. You will ensure this critical infrastructure remains dependable, scalable, and secure as the company expands. It's a hands-on leadership role for an individual experienced in building and operating multi-cloud, Kubernetes-based environments in production.

What you'll do
- Guide and develop the team that manages Camunda's SaaS cloud infrastructure, emphasizing execution and a strong engineering ethos.
- Oversee the architecture, implementation, and ongoing improvement of multi-cloud infrastructure built on Kubernetes, prioritizing reliability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with product engineering, security, support, and other engineering leaders to enable safe and efficient platform development.
- Continuously enhance infrastructure automation, developer tools, and platform safeguards to support service growth without introducing friction.
- Establish how the team integrates AI into routine infrastructure tasks, including operational analysis, automation, and incident resolution.
- Balance immediate operational needs with strategic investments in multi-cloud expansion and new infrastructure capabilities.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience leading engineers who manage production infrastructure for SaaS products.
- A solid technical foundation in cloud infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or a comparable field.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes in a production setting, including scaling, ensuring reliability, and managing cluster lifecycles.
- Demonstrated experience working with multiple major cloud providers and understanding the complexities of multi-cloud environments.
- A history of collaborating with senior engineers and stakeholders across different teams to implement significant infrastructure enhancements that improve reliability and scalability while maintaining a strong security posture.
- Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, priority setting, and fostering an environment where engineers can excel.
- Clear strategic thinking regarding the application of AI in infrastructure engineering, with sound judgment on its utility, repeatability, and responsible use.
Nice to have
- Experience managing global or multi-region SaaS infrastructure.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, policy as code, and platform automation practices.
- Experience enhancing observability, incident management, or reliability for cloud-native systems.
- Experience with cloud cost management, platform guardrails, or tools that assist teams in making informed infrastructure decisions.
