About the role
Join Camunda as a Senior General Ledger Accountant for a 6-month full-time engagement. You will lead the financial close and reporting for our German parent entity, including HGB statutory statements, and manage reporting for additional entities like Singapore. You will transform multi-entity, multi-currency financial data into reliable statements, while enhancing controls and documentation as the company grows.
Key facts
What you'll do
Manage the complete month-end close process for the German entity and one other entity, including complex journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare the German entity's HGB statutory financial statements, contributing to the notes (Anhang), maintaining asset registers, and ensuring the package is complete and audit-ready.
Support both IFRS and local statutory audits by preparing documentation, providing evidence, participating in walkthroughs, and addressing auditor inquiries.
Oversee the group close schedule by maintaining the calendar, refining checklists, and clarifying dependencies between entities.
Act as a primary resource for intricate GL issues and unusual transactions, collaborating with stakeholders to find solutions and documenting accounting conclusions for future reference.
Improve controls and documentation by enhancing reconciliations, close narratives, and accounting procedures to increase efficiency without compromising accuracy.
Handle the administrative aspects of key accounting tools within your purview, including user permissions, workflows, and initial issue resolution.
Collaborate with various teams to streamline processes, reduce recurring challenges, test improvements, support automation efforts, and maintain clear procedures for a remote work environment.
Requirements
Possess substantial practical experience in general ledger accounting, with end-to-end responsibility for month-end closes and account reconciliations within a corporate setting.

Exhibit professional fluency in both German and English, both written and spoken, to manage German statutory matters and collaborate globally.
Have practical experience preparing IFRS reporting packages and supporting IFRS audit requests, with a strong focus on controls, audit readiness, evidence building, and decision documentation.
Show strong system proficiency, including daily ERP use (NetSuite preferred), experience with close management tools (FloQast preferred), and comfort managing workflows, permissions, and tool administration.
