About the role
Calendly is seeking a senior engineer to help evolve our scheduling platform as we transition from a monolith to a service-oriented architecture. You will report to an Engineering Manager and focus on building features and infrastructure that support our enterprise customers.

What you'll do
- Develop features for high-impact enterprise users.
- Contribute to platform scaling and architectural modernization.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to refine technical requirements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies for sprint planning and execution.
- Work across squads to elevate engineering standards.
- Conduct code reviews and provide implementation feedback.
- Mentor and coach other engineers on the team.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address production issues.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of professional software development experience in a SaaS or tech-focused environment.
- Ability to independently design, build, and deploy full-stack production changes.
- Experience building and maintaining Node.js services that interact with distributed APIs or LLMs.
- Practical experience with microservices and large-scale monolith-to-service refactoring.
- Proven ability to own the full lifecycle of a feature from discovery to maintenance.
- Strong analytical skills for identifying root causes and building scalable, clean code.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants like Cursor or Copilot and the ability to evaluate generated code.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. Calendly does not provide immigration sponsorship.

Salary ranges are based on geographic tiers:
Tier 1 (SF, San Jose, NYC): $224,400 - $271,920 USD
Tier 2 (Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, DC, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle, Miami, and all CA cities): $205,700 - $249,260 USD
Tier 3 (All other locations): $187,000 - $226,600 USD
